VIEWS OF THE SHOW | ABOUT THE SHOW | WORKS PRESENTED | ARTICLESVIEWS OF THE SHOWABOUT THE SHOWPierre-François Ouellette art contemporain (PFOAC) is pleased to announce its participation at DiVA 2005 (Paris), an art fair dedicated exclusively to digital and video art. Since the invention of photography, nothing has had a greater impact on artistic practice than the emergence of the personal video camera, and later, digital technology. Today, cameras and video cameras, digital and otherwise, with the aid of computers, have become the ultimate tool in creating a dynamic arena for artistic expression without the limits imposed by the artists physical surroundings. The concentration of serious collectors in Paris, both contemporary art lovers and those who collect as part of family tradition, makes Paris one of the most important places for exhibiting video art and new media. DiVA Paris promises to be a valuable addition to the city's art arena with local collectors welcoming video as a serious part of their collections. DiVA will take place at the Kube Hotel, 1 – 5 Passage Ruelle, Adjacent à l'Avenue Max Dormoy, 75018 Paris from October 7 - 9 2005. DiVA Paris will take place in the Kube Hotel with 30 rooms ranging from 25x25 to 40x45 square meters, as well as, two projection rooms. PFOAC will feature a video by Michel de Broin. "Réparations" is an action that was staged in the suburban of Paris and then in the center. In Réparations, used water bottles are filled with compressed air and liquid, then projected like rockets a 100 feet in the air. During a stroll, bottles haphazardly discarded in the street find themselves, one after another, blown into the Paris sky. The video was presented last Spring at Biennale of Quebec: Cynismes?, La manifestation international d'art de Québec, curators Patrice Loubier et André-Louis Paré. WORKS PRESENTED
